Editor's Verdict
👍 Pros
- ✓The contents list is genuinely comprehensive for the price, covering haemorrhage control, chest seals, airway, splinting, eye protection and thermal care
- ✓Including a marker shows real understanding of the use case, since recording tourniquet application time is critical information for receiving medical staff
- ✓Two emergency bandages in different widths, plus a combat cravat and crepe bandage, give useful flexibility
- ✓Compression gauze is described as vacuum-sealed to maintain sterility
- ✓Stainless steel EMT shears are the correct tool for cutting clothing away from a wound
- ✓At $63.48 the quantity of equipment is remarkable value, given that a single approved tourniquet alone usually costs around half that
- ✓Three warehouses in Germany, California and Shanghai with DHL and FedEx named as carriers
- ✓Honest disclosure that an order may ship from a different warehouse and that this may delay delivery to remote areas
- ✓Free express delivery on orders of $100 or more
- ✓Product training videos are offered to purchasers, which at least acknowledges that training matters
- ✓117 reviews are shown with a visible breakdown including entries in the lowest band
- ✓A coherent range including an empty IFAK bag and tourniquet multipacks for those building their own kit
👎 Cons
- ✕No CoTCCC recommendation is stated for the tourniquet, which is the single most important credential for haemorrhage control equipment, since that committee maintains the authoritative list of devices tested to hold under load
- ✕Unapproved tourniquets have been documented failing in testing, with windlass rods snapping and buckles and webbing giving way, which is a failure mode that costs lives rather than inconveniences the user
- ✕The page does not state whether the tourniquet windlass is metal or plastic, and plastic windlasses are a known weak point
- ✕Marketing the kit under the Stop the Bleed banner while supplying a non-recommended tourniquet is misleading, as that campaign specifically advises using CoTCCC-recommended devices
- ✕No FDA clearance or CE marking is mentioned for any item, despite an EU warehouse and the fact that CE marking is mandatory for medical devices sold in Europe
- ✕A 28Fr nasopharyngeal airway is included with no training, no insertion guidance and no warning that it is contraindicated in suspected mid-face or basilar skull injury
- ✕The chest seals are not identified as vented or unvented, which is a meaningful clinical distinction since current guidance favours vented seals
- ✕No expiry dates or shelf-life information is given, despite sterile dressings and gauze having finite shelf lives
- ✕No returns policy, refund terms or guarantee appears anywhere on the page
- ✕No contact email, telephone number or trading address is published, only warehouse city names
- ✕No average rating is displayed and the star bars in the review breakdown are unlabelled
- ✕Two conflicting discount codes appear, a 10% code and a 22% Black Friday code, with no indication which applies
- ✕Training videos are available only after purchase and only by emailing the company, when safety guidance should be free and upfront
- ✕The product title says 17 pieces while the contents list shows 16
- ✕The kit was out of stock while still being actively marketed

Frequently Asked Questions
Free express delivery applies on orders of $100 or more, with DHL serving the EU, FedEx serving the US and either carrier used elsewhere. Rates below that threshold are not published. The company states honestly that if local stock is unavailable an order may ship from another warehouse, which can cause delays, particularly to remote areas.
No returns policy, refund terms or guarantee appears anywhere on the product page, and no contact email, telephone number or trading address is published, only the warehouse cities of Ratingen, Chino and Shanghai. On a $63.48 purchase of safety equipment that is a significant gap, so get the return terms confirmed in writing before ordering and pay by a method that offers its own dispute protection.
No approval or recommendation is stated, and this is the most important thing to understand before buying. The Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care maintains the authoritative list of recommended limb tourniquets, which includes devices such as the CAT Gen 7, SOFTT-W, TMT and SAM-XT, and it exists because unapproved tourniquets have been tested and found to fail, with windlass rods snapping and buckles or webbing giving way under load. This listing claims no CoTCCC recommendation and does not even specify whether the windlass is metal or plastic. The Stop the Bleed campaign referenced in the product title specifically advises using CoTCCC-recommended devices. Our recommendation is to buy your tourniquet separately as a recommended model from an authorised dealer, and verify authenticity, since counterfeits are widespread online.
No certification of any kind is mentioned. There is no FDA clearance stated for any component and no CE marking, which is notable given that the company operates an EU warehouse and CE marking is mandatory for medical devices sold in Europe. No expiry dates or shelf-life information is given either, which matters because sterile dressings and gauze do expire and a kit stored for years needs date tracking. If you buy it, log the contents and check the packaging dates yourself.
Not without training. A nasopharyngeal airway is a medical airway device inserted through the nostril to maintain an open airway in an unresponsive casualty. It requires proper instruction, and it is contraindicated where mid-face or skull base injury is suspected, because intracranial misplacement has been reported, while incorrect insertion can cause significant bleeding into the airway. The kit includes a 28Fr NPA with no insertion guidance and no warning. If you have not been trained, leave it in the pouch and use positioning and basic airway manoeuvres instead.
Yes, and it should be your first purchase rather than your last. The company offers product training videos, but only to customers who have already bought the kit and then email to request them, which is the wrong way round for safety equipment. Take a Stop the Bleed course or an equivalent bleeding-control class, which are widely available and often free. Learn to apply a tourniquet one-handed, practise wound packing, and remember the sequence: call emergency services, apply direct pressure, pack the wound, and use a tourniquet for life-threatening limb bleeding that pressure cannot control. Write the application time on the tourniquet, which is what the included marker is for.
Sixteen items, despite the title saying seventeen: two chest seal twin-packs, compression gauze, 4-inch and 6-inch emergency bandages, a RHINO tourniquet with holder, an 18-inch splint, a combat cravat, an elastic crepe bandage, an eye shield, duct tape, an emergency blanket, stainless steel shears, a 28Fr nasopharyngeal airway, gloves and a marker. Note that the chest seals are not identified as vented or unvented, which is a meaningful distinction since current guidance generally favours vented seals for penetrating chest wounds.
Every Rhino Rescue code listed on smartstorereview is tested against the live checkout before publication and rechecked regularly, with expired codes removed and the last verified date shown beside each offer. Note that the product page itself displayed two conflicting codes during our review, a 10% code and a 22% Black Friday code, with no indication which applied, and the kit showed as out of stock, so confirm availability and the final total before completing payment.

As a consumables refill this is excellent value. The bandages, gauze, cravat and shears are all usable quality and everything arrived properly sealed. I keep it in the truck but I swapped the tourniquet out for a genuine CAT from an authorised dealer, which is what I would tell anyone buying this to do.

The contents are good for the money and I liked that a marker was included for writing the time on the tourniquet. What stopped me trusting it is that nothing anywhere says the tourniquet is CoTCCC recommended, and it does not even tell you if the windlass is metal or plastic. For the one item that has to work, that is not good enough.

I am an EMT and I would not put this in a civilian kit. It contains a 28 French nasopharyngeal airway with no instructions and no warning that you must not use one in suspected mid face or skull base trauma. There is also no CE mark despite shipping from Germany, and no returns policy of any kind.
